Skytech Remote Control Compatibility Chart
We carry several brands of remote controls, some of which are designed to work only with their brands of gas logs, while others are more universal. Of them all, our Skytech remotes are most popular, so we created this handy guide to help you choose the right Skytech remote control for your application. Also, be sure to check out our Skytech Remote Control Features Chart to see how each compares.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my installed gas log set is a millivolt unit?
If you turn on your log set with an on/off switch mounted to your gas log set
(pictured here),
yours is most likely a standard millivolt system. To be 100% sure, you can inspect your gas log set and see if you have three wire terminals labeled “TP TH”, “TP”, and “TH”
(hover for example).
If you have to turn on your gas log set by MANUALLY turning a valve each time, you DO NOT have a millivolt system. You either have a match light system or a manual safety pilot system.
If I have a match light vented gas log set, can I add a remote control to it?
Yes, but you must purchase a safety pilot kit also. Shop our Remote Pilot Kits.
Can I use a thermostat-type remote control with my vented gas log set?
No. Remote controls (or wall switches for that matter) with thermostat controls should only be used with standard millivolt appliances classified as heaters, such as vent free gas log sets, direct vent fireplaces, pellet stoves, etc. Vented gas log sets are classified as decorative appliances, not heaters.
