Exceeded my expectations

I bought this fireplace never seeing it before and using only online reviews to answer my many questions. After 3 years (it was installed in 2020) we are still enjoying this fireplace with the large open window view and the warmth it provides. A few questions that I've got answered. Efficiency. This is tough however, when this is running the house furnace does not run at all. We have a great room that is 20x60 with a 20 foot domed ceiling and it has NO problem heating the entire space and then some. The blower is fairly loud but at it's lowest setting it's tolerable. I use aspen in this fireplace and I can load it up at night but it doesn't quite make it through the night and the house furnace will kick on sometime to subsidize the heat. I have not tried hardwood. Door hinges. I've heard that there has been issues in the past but I have not experienced any issues with this fireplace. Cleaning glass windows. Yes, it takes about 15 minutes to get these windows clean. I use a blue scratch pad (safe for glass) and a lot of elbow grease. It takes awhile but it will get spotless after the time spent. Our family has continued to enjoy this fireplace especially when the snow flies outside. Cheers!

Functional Beauty!

We built in 2017 in west central WI. This unit is great. Our blower fan is in the basement with a variable speed switch next to the fireplace. This makes it very quiet unless u have it on high.. even then it's fine cuz you know your blowing some heat if need to turn it to high. The unit is beautiful and doors get dirty with wet wood. We clean the glass only a few times a season. We use it daily. The hotter the fire the cleaner the glass. My only complaint is the feet on the andirons have broke twice. I like their look but will need to go a different route for a grate.

Nz6000 Hybrid fireplace

When building our new home in 2009 my wife and I had to work out a major compromise. You see she wanted a fireplace and I wanted a wood stove in the great room of our 2800sq ft ranch, cathedral ceiling...After doing much research we decided on the nz6000 and it has been one of the better decisions we made. We read about how much fuel it uses, but anything the size of this unit will consume wood.(we accepted that). We read about the complaints on the window air wash.( Also read that burning 2 year dried hardwood and hot fires would help eliminate the creosote on the windows. It does!). Also read about the blower noise and took that into consideration and mounted the blower in the basement, which really is a bonus because it helps circulate the air in the 2 levels. Read about the doors sagging but took a chance with that one because Napoleon had stated that issue was fixed. Well, we must have received an older unit because after the first year the doors sagged. Called the dealer within 2 weeks I received a door hinge replacement kit and have not had an issue with the hinges since. As for cleaning the windows, I use a product called " Hearth and Stove Cleaner". A total of 5 minutes to clean both windows.I clean the windows before every fire. I don't burn overnight because we have rooms that don't get the heat from the fireplace. Plus with the central heating system ( geothermal furnace )running it balances out all the rooms. Our glass stays clean until the fire becomes all coals and starts cooling down. We burn 4-5 evenings a week, 3-4 cords a year in southwest Pennsylvania. We replaced the center firebrick once and the andiron once. Most times we burn we get the expansion "bang" of the metal expanding. Another negative is I spend to much time in a t-shirt and shorts eating ice cream when we have a fire going! We are very happy with the beauty and ambiance this fireplace has. 13 years of use and still going strong.

Beautiful!

I have had this fireplace for fifteen years, since we built our house. I love this fireplace. It's beautiful and is the centerpiece of the living room. It can heat the entire house (3100sf). There is nothing better than relaxing in front of a warm, beautiful fire when it's below freezing outside and the heat is not running!

Heats our 2,700 Square foot house

Now in our 4th year of ownership and very pleased with our decision to go High End. You decide that once for a lifetime of enjoyment. This is not just a fireplace, it is the central focus of our mountain home

Great Fireplace Insert

I've had the High Country 6000 for a little bit now. It heats my space well and looks great. We got the optional blower and it works great!

Puts out the heat. Nice view of fire.

Have had the NZ6000 for 11 years. Love it. Andiron has broken several times. The mounting feet are a weak spot.

Good unit, lots of heat

I Installed a high country 6000 and 3000 in new construction in 2015 I love them both. Some of the complaints are valid, the "whisper quiet" blower sounds like an F-18 taking off if you don't have a dimmer switch installed on fan. If I could do it over I would have placed the blower in my basement or remote area. When the blower is on the house gets warm very fast and the heat reaches further areas in the house. The advertised burn times are a bit inflated but with a little strategy on your last load of wood for the night you can still have hot coals the next morning. It definitely consumes a lot of wood but it's a huge fireplace, don't buy a pick up truck then complain about fuel economy. Before a big storm I fill a 50 cubic foot wood box and burn liberally while snowed in and get 4-5 days from that. One particular storm left us without power for a week with below freezing temps, I had both the 3000 and 6000 units going which allowed us to keep the house warm. Even without the blower the 6000 by itself can make my house warm and comfortable during a cold snap, I have a 2200 sq. ft. center chimney cape house with an open concept and 2x6 exterior walls with R-19 batt insulation. The glass gets sooty if I burn wood that is on the green side or if I try to damp the fire way down for a slow burn. If I burn a load of dry wood and keep it hot it burns the soot off the glass. I clean the glass at the end of the burning season so it looks nice the rest of the year. I burn 2-3 cords a year to supplement heat, if I wanted to heat exclusively with this it would definitely be a chore keeping it fed but would be possible and probably up the wood consumption to 10+ cords annually. My only regret is not getting the optional gravity vents to help distribute the heat without running the blower. I live in Massachusetts which assesses and taxes both my Napoleon fireplaces the same as a masonry fireplace even though they are essentially woodstoves that look like fireplaces and unlike a Rumford fireplace the Napoleons could be removed from the wall and put back on a pallet if one were so inclined. If Napoleon could produce a spec sheet that could be presented to the board of assessors that identified the unit as a solid fuel burning appliance (wood stove) which is not taxed that would be great.

Great veiw and heat but poor glass wash system

I bought this fireplace several years ago. I have enjoyed the large viewing area and the great deal of heat it gives off. I do not find the fan exceedingly loud as somehave noted. At least no louder than my furnace fan. Maybe that is because both are located remotely in my basement. I do find the glass wash system quite inadequate. After every fire I spend 30 min cleaning the glass of soot. I will be attempting a remote fan to assist the wash system to see if this helps. It is so annoying that I deducted two stars from the rating

When will my item arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we’ve all come to expect for small parcels, so it’s important that you’re prepared and understand what’s required of you well before delivery day.

  • Most freight products ship on a pallet
  • Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
  • We’ll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.

For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can’t be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we’ve only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.

For carriers that deliver without an appointment:

Carriers that deliver without an appointment don’t require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren’t required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you’re home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you’re out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
